Beacon lighting, BBQs, and don’t forget your voter I.D

What’s On Coronation Weekend: Flaming hot, with Beacon Lighting and BBQs. Let’s hope the sun stays out, too.
Please note the change of day for The Rainbow’s BBQ; now Monday so as not to disappoint the Sunday carvery regulars. More chance also to make some space in our bellies after Benjies Caribbean Kitchen At The Blacksmiths Arms, BBQ on the Saturday!

This also frees up Sunday for any street parties you may wish you organise, or perhaps a picnic at Beechwood in the field if the weather is fine. The hall was already booked out I’m afraid, but the field will be open to everyone.

Finally – do feel free to go crazy with your bunting! Highways have imposed licensing rules on hanging bunting along the road this year, so although this makes it difficult to do anything officially, it would be wonderful to see our villages decorated with your own personal touches. Remind drivers that our villages are not just corridors to speed through!

Do you have ideas about events you would like to run? New ideas, people, organisers for events are invited to make contact with Parish Clerk Marie via clerk@hamseyparish.gov.uk or Chairperson Tamsyn on 07921 227623.

Best wishes from All at Hamsey Parish Council
